MARA Holdings, formerly Marathon Digital, has sold nearly one-third of its Bitcoin holdings, amounting to $1.1 billion, amid a so-called strategic pivot to AI.

It is one of the largest publicly traded Bitcoin mining companies, controlling 5% of total BTC hashrate.

The company had previously called it a debt-buyback exercise.

MARA also fired 15% employees, suggesting the pivot may be due to survival difficulties.

Ethereum layer-2 networks need “responsive pricing” to scale to billions of users and reduce the fee swings that still accompany congestion, Offchain Labs co-founder Edward Felten said during a keynote at EthCC 2026.

Ethereum’s EIP-1559 upgrade launched in August 2021, as part of the London hard fork. It reformed the Ethereum fee market by modifying the gas fee limit and introduced a feature that burns part of the transaction fees, removing them permanently from circulation.

Felten said gas-price swings are still the main mechanism for protecting networks from being overrun during periods of heavy demand, even though that produces the kind of fee volatility mainstream users tend to reject.

There's a lot of hype around blockchain and crypto, but what are the actual challenges? What do people (the average Joe like many of us) really care about? I think there are four major issues that our "favorite" blockchains need to fully resolve to make a real difference:

1. Usability

Let's be honest: for the average Joe, what matters most is probably how fast and convenient you can get things done on a blockchain, and how much it costs.

2. Privacy

This has become a major concern for blockchain adopters (everyday users, companies, banks, etc.). The rise of Zcash and other privacy chains recently speaks for itself. Blockchain is famous for being a public, transparent ledger where anyone can see the data. That’s great for preventing fraud, but we clearly don't want anyone snooping around in our damn wallets.

3. Decentralization

This basically comes down to: "who really owns or is in charge of this blockchain?" The whole point of blockchain is that there is no central boss, bank, or company in charge. It’s supposed to be run by our average Joe, or at least give him a significant level of control.

4. Post-Quantum Security

This is getting real now. "Not your keys, not your coins" is our motto. But these damn quantum computers could actually take our keys away from us. And they are coming fast and furious. You can read more about it here from Google Quantum AI. If what they found is true, there are very few chains that are really ready for this now and the near future.

I would love to hear your thoughts on where your favorite blockchains stand on these issues. Is there anything else that matters more?

General data from the web can't be trusted if you are looking for absolute accuracy. The next major hurdle for specialized LLMs, especially in finance and medicine, seems to be high-quality, human-validated, domain-specific data.

It looks like some publicly traded companies are starting to look at decentralized physical infrastructure networks to solve this, rather than traditional data farms. Aether Holdings just announced a joint venture with OORT, a decentralized AI data cloud.

They are using OORT's DataHub to collect, label, and validate institutional-grade financial datasets to train next-gen financial AI models.

I received an unexpected deposit of around $1k USDT. I am aware this can many times be related to a scam... but im not sure how.

Do the negative red numbers mean that the tokens being withdrawn from the exchanges, meaning that whales are accumulating or does it mean the opposite of that? Secondly, if I were to take the 15 day net flow and divide by the market cap, how come that does not reconcile with the Netflow/Mcap ratio found when I click a specific token, right under the heat map? I’m currently having a really frustrating issue with my Gemini wallet and could use some advice. I haven’t logged in for quite a while, so I had to go through the re-verification process. I’ve already submitted all the required documents, but despite having an open support ticket, I haven’t received any responses or updates from their team.

The worrying part is that while I can still log in and even withdraw fiat, I’m completely unable to send my BTC to another wallet address. That’s obviously a big concern, especially given that I have a decent amount of crypto sitting in the account.

A few days ago, I publicly committed to verifying Qubic's DOGE mining launch against independent network data rather than their own dashboard. Launch happened this morning.

What I checked so far:

Pool distribution: Nothing visible yet

My take on early data: It does seem active mining is ongoing, but more time and data will be useful to verify if the dashboard hashrate lines up with what we see in minerstat. Currently the % share is too low to see any effects in the doge hashrate but will likely rampup over the coming days.

I've been farming yield for a while now, and the most useful thing I've built for myself is a short checklist. Every time I look at a new vault or position, I run through the same seven questions before putting any money in. This isn't a comprehensive list, but it's great to start your analysis.

1. Where is the yield coming from?

This is the first thing to check. Is the return coming from borrowers paying interest, from trading fees, from staking rewards, or from bonus tokens handed out by a protocol? Each source works differently and has a completely different shelf life. If the yield comes from real activity like borrowing demand or swap fees, the position is more likely to be a set-and-forget strategy. That yield exists because people are using the protocol, and it persists as long as usage continues. If the yield comes from token emissions, it requires more active management. You need a strategy for the emitted tokens: sell immediately, hold for upside, restake into another position, or some combination. Emissions-based yield is an active strategy, and treating it like a passive one is how you end up holding depreciating reward tokens.

2. How much of the yield is base vs. bonus?

Always split these apart. If a vault shows 18% APY, you want to know what % is from lending interest and what % is from a bonus campaign. If it’s 4% from lending and 14% incentives, I’ll know that the 4% sticks around as long as borrowers exist. The 14% disappears when the campaign budget runs out.

3. When does the bonus expire?

Campaign rewards run on a schedule. Some last two weeks, some last three months. If you're entering a position mostly for the bonus, you want to know the timeline before you deposit. I actually put these dates in a calendar so I know when to move my positions.

4. How fast is the vault filling up?

Rising deposits dilute your yield. If a vault jumped from $5M to $50M in a week, your share of the rewards is a fraction of what earlier depositors received. Check the TVL trend before entering.

5. How many smart contracts are you trusting?

A direct deposit on Aave is one contract. A vault managed on Morpho with bonus rewards flowing through Merkl is three layers of smart contracts. More layers means more places where something can go wrong.

6. Who built this, and how long has it been running?

The team behind a protocol matters. Older, battle-tested protocols with doxxed teams and years of operational history are generally considered safer than brand new projects with no track record. Check whether the team has raised funding and who backed them. VCs are a controversial topic in crypto, and there are valid reasons people are skeptical. That said, if a project is backed by firms like a16z, Paradigm, or Pantera, the legitimacy of the project tends to be higher than one with no backing and a completely anonymous team. VC backing is a signal, and it means the project went through some level of due diligence before receiving capital. It's one data point among many, but it's worth checking.

7. Can you leave when you want to?

Check whether there's a lockup period, and if the position involves an LP pair, look at the liquidity depth. For bonus rewards that vest over time, you want to know the schedule upfront. The affects the risk-profile especially if the vest if well into the future. Just like in TradFi with stock investing, there’s always a discount-to-future that you need to use in your analysis.

How I applied this to positions I hold

Aave USDC on Ethereum: Yield comes from borrower interest. Current rate is around 2-3%. There's no bonus layer. It has just one smart contract and is fully liquid. This is my simplest position and my baseline for comparison.

Stablecoins on Turtle: Base yield comes from lending through Morpho, Aave, and Euler. Bonus comes from bonus tokens distributed through Merkl. Additional Turtle Shells earned for providing liquidity through Turtle’s frontend. I track these separately. Most breakdowns are ~3-5% base + 5-10% bonus. Each campaign has a set end date. I'd move my capital if the base yield + ¼ of the bonus dropped below what I can get on Aave. This is my personal preference, but I always add a discount to bonus rewards. Spectra PT (USDC, Katana). Fixed rate locked at ~7% until the maturity date (August 2026). No bonus. I like Spectra & Pendle because they are yield-capturing protocols. Basically, I get a guaranteed rate through PT tokens as long as i hold through the maturity date. This is the closest thing to bond markets we have in DeFi. The risk is smart contract exposure plus the opportunity cost of having my capital locked until maturity.

Turtle is my preferred platform for stablecoin farming because the base yield is comparable to what you'd get elsewhere across DeFi, but I get added boosts from incentive campaigns and earn Turtle Shells on my positions. That said, this checklist doesn't require anyone to deposit into any specific vaults. It's a framework for evaluating opportunities wherever you find them. Where you end up depositing comes down to personal preference and risk tolerance.

Every project has roadmaps and promises but i'm trying to figure out which ones actually delivered working stuff in 2026 so far.

I'm not talking about price action or new tokens, but actual infrastructure you can point to and say "this works now when it didn't 3 months ago".

As I wrote back in September, before BTC dropped over 50%: downside risk is severe and crypto markets are sleeping on it.

The conflict in Iran is rapidly spiraling into the worst energy crisis the world has ever seen - and it may now be too late to avoid. Until a month ago, the Strait of Hormuz supplied 20% of the world’s oil along with 20% of liquid natural gas. That supply is now gone, and the physical vacuum must be accounted for - in the next few weeks, the world has to figure out someway to consume 15-20% less oil and gas.

The full impact of the shortage is still 2 weeks away as emergency oil stockpiles are emptied and the last remaining tankers offload their final shipments. There won’t be enough oil for everyone - economic activity will have to slow to pandemic levels to account for the deficit.

The historical precedent is pretty clear: economic recession has coincided with each and every major energy crisis over the last 50 years: 1973, 1979, 1990, 2008. And while it’s still debated whether 2022 was a true recession, the Russia/Ukraine energy crisis coincided with a 19.4% crash in the S&P and 64% crash in BTC.

Bitcoin is especially vulnerable to the closure of Hormuz: ~38% of mining is natural gas, which has also been impacted by the closure of the Strait. Miners that rely on fossil energy will shutdown. The rest of cryptocurrencies will be dragged down with Bitcoin and the broader economy.

And it’s now only a matter of time.

POTUS said today he plans to withdraw from Iran in 2-3 weeks, whether or not the Strait is re-opened. That would guarantee we cross the mid-April cliff when shortages first hit American shores. From there, things only get worse each day that the Strait remains incapacitated.

And Iran has every incentive to keep the Strait throttled. Their negotiating leverage goes up each day that the energy crisis goes on. Their demands (formally recognized control of the Strait, reparations, protection for their nuclear program) are currently considered untenable, but that may change if the world gets desperate enough.

The broader market is focused on what the super powers like U.S. and China want. But the only one with decision making power here is Iran - and they know they have to inflict maximum economic pain to deter future aggression from the West.

Brokerage clients in the European Economic Area can now trade 11 cryptocurrencies alongside traditional assets in a single account.

Interactive Brokers has launched crypto trading for retail investors in the European Economic Area (EEA), allowing eligible clients to buy and sell 11 digital assets, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, alongside traditional assets on its platform.

According to Tuesday’s announcement, the EEA offering will be provided through the company’s Ireland-based entity, an authorized crypto-asset service provider in the region. Clients will see spot crypto trading integrated into existing brokerage accounts with commissions starting at 0.12%–0.18% and 24/7 market access.

An unknown Kraken user lost 18.2 million dollars due to a suspected social engineering scam.

The threat actor began bridging 45 minutes ago from Ethereum to Bitcoin via THORChain with a SafePal wallet.

A massive streaming swap of 878 ETH worth approximately 1.8 million dollars was executed on THORChain as part of the movement. The funds appear to be heading toward Bitcoin.

With all the talk about L2 fragmentation this week (Ethereum Economic Zone announcement, Superchain, AggLayer), I wanted to share something I've been working on.

The problem in simple terms: every L2 rollup uses its own proof system to settle on Ethereum.
Each one needs its own verifier contract, each costs 200k+ gas, and many require a "trusted setup" - a ceremony where you have to trust that participants deleted their secret keys.

GLYPH is a verification layer that takes any proof

- regardless of which system generated it
- and verifies it through a single contract for less than 30k gas.

No trusted setup. Fully transparent (If the input proof is - *limitation*).

Why this matters:

- Gas savings: ~7.5x cheaper than Groth16 (the current most common verifier)

- Universality: supports all major proof systems

Back in December 2025 I sent $20,000 worth of USDT to an exchanger called Prime_EX that I found through BestChange — the biggest crypto exchange aggregator used across Russian-speaking countries. The exchanger had a 4.9 out of 5 rating, which felt like a strong signal of reliability.

Before sending, I asked the operator whether any verification would be required. He said no, everything would be fine. I sent 19,968 USDT TRC20. It arrived — confirmed on-chain. The exchange was never completed.

What followed was a textbook fraud playbook:

They claimed the transaction failed an AML check due to "high risk." Their own AML tool showed a risk score of 40% — labeled MEDIUM — with every specific category (sanctions, dark market, terrorism financing) below 0.01%. Their own data contradicted their story.

They asked me to record a video of myself holding my passport and a handwritten note saying "Bankoro AML Verification." Bankoro is not a real compliance organization. It has no registration, no website, no regulatory status. This was a document harvesting attempt.

One of their operators put in writing: "We will refund the funds to the original address." He didn't.

When I pushed back, their admin said the funds were held by a third-party "payment system" — but they wouldn't say which one. They also told me all their operations run through OKX, apparently trying to borrow credibility from a real exchange's name.

I reported everything to BestChange in December with full evidence. Over the next three and a half months, Prime_EX kept operating on their platform with its 4.9 rating intact. BestChange sent periodic replies saying they were "checking with the exchanger" and "waiting for the custodial service to respond." In March 2026, Prime_EX quietly disappeared from BestChange. Their website went to maintenance mode. No refund, no explanation.

I sent BestChange a formal legal notice. No response.

Having held for years and years all sorts of volatile cryptocurrencys, some like btc that tend to keep going up, and many others like snx, atom, dot, tezos, etc with worse trajectories, my actual retirement savings going down like 25% or whatever doesn’t phase me at all.

Think about the DeFi mania first. You bought a Yswap token, LPed it for 10,000% APR, and if you were fast enough you made a fortune. If not, you got rekt.

Then came the airdrop hunting era. Thousands of wallets, bridging dust across every L2, farming points on protocols you didn't even understand, all chasing that one drop that would change your life. Some made it. Most got sybil-banned or dumped on.

Then the meme coin era. Not quite the same raw greed, but still absolutely unhinged times.

Now we're in a transition phase where, through derivatives, you can bet on commodities and treat them like memecoins while the world literally burns. And this is happening on Hyperliquid, a platform that wasn't even primarily designed for commodities.

Now imagine what happens when the real beasts arrive. Platforms like Sphinx and others that are purpose-built and potentially regulated for commodities and RWAs.

The playbook will look something like this:

• Invest in commodities
• Flip gains to BTC
• Use it as collateral to borrow USDC
• Borrow some NVDA stocks on the side
• Throw whatever's left into random memecoins
• Oh, and maybe grab an NFT while you're at it

The greed, the mania, the volatility will make everything we've seen before look tame. Crypto is becoming the connective tissue between all markets, and in doing so it's turning the entire financial system into one massive, highly leveraged, always-on casino.

We haven't seen anything yet.

A trader just got banned from Hyperliquid after months of organic activity and $750,000 in volume. Main wallet suddenly flagged as “high risk” by third-party screening tool. Cannot connect to the frontend anymore. When they asked for explanation on Discord, they got timed out for a week instead of clarity.

This is the uncomfortable reality of “decentralized” platforms in 2026. The smart contracts are permissionless. The underlying protocol is decentralized. But access to the frontend is controlled by centralized entities who can revoke it based on opaque third-party risk scoring with no appeals process.

The specific details matter here. This was not someone with suspicious activity or clear violations. Four to five year old wallet, never flagged on any platform previously, $750K in legitimate trading volume over months. Not someone wash trading for airdrop farming or engaging in obvious manipulation. Just a regular trader using the platform as intended who suddenly cannot access it anymore.

The problem is not that platforms need to manage risk or comply with regulations. The problem is the process. Third-party screening tool flags wallet. User loses access immediately. User asks for explanation. User gets silenced instead of given information about what triggered the flag or how to dispute it. This is not reasonable risk management, this is arbitrary exclusion without due process.

What makes this particularly frustrating is that Hyperliquid’s value proposition is being a decentralized perpetuals exchange that does not have the restrictions and arbitrary rules of centralized platforms. But if access to the frontend can be revoked based on opaque risk scoring with no explanation or appeals, the practical difference from a centralized exchange is minimal for users who get caught in the filter.

The user says they will keep trading using secondary addresses, which highlights how ineffective this kind of blocking actually is for risk management. Someone determined to access the platform just uses different wallets. The main effect is not preventing actual bad actors but creating friction and frustration for legitimate users who get caught in overly broad filters.

This connects to broader questions about how decentralized platforms handle compliance and risk management without recreating the exact problems centralized platforms have. If the only way to comply with regulations or manage risk is through centralized frontend access control with opaque criteria and no appeals process, then calling the platform decentralized becomes misleading.

Intent-based architectures like Anoma could help address this through different access models. Instead of binary frontend access where you are either allowed or banned, intent-based systems could implement graduated restrictions based on specific behaviors or risk signals. Low risk activity executes normally. Medium risk activity faces additional verification requirements. High risk activity gets flagged for review but does not lose all access immediately.

More importantly, intent systems with validity predicates could encode compliance requirements directly at the protocol level rather than relying on frontend gatekeeping. If certain types of intents need to satisfy KYC or risk screening requirements, those become validity predicates that must be satisfied for execution. But the criteria are transparent and the verification happens programmatically rather than through arbitrary frontend bans.

The transparency point is crucial. If your intent gets rejected because it does not satisfy a validity predicate, you know exactly which constraint was not satisfied. You can see the logic that determined rejection. You can potentially modify the intent to satisfy requirements. This is fundamentally different from “third-party tool flagged your wallet as high risk” with zero information about what that means or how to address it.

The user in this case is left guessing. Did they interact with a flagged address at some point? Did volume patterns trigger some algorithmic filter? Did someone report the wallet maliciously? No way to know and no way to dispute because they get timed out instead of given information.

This kind of opaque enforcement is what people expected from centralized exchanges, not from platforms marketing themselves as decentralized alternatives. The irony is that centralized exchanges often have better appeals processes than this because they have regulatory requirements to provide transparency about account actions.

The broader lesson is that decentralization at the smart contract level is not sufficient if access remains controlled through centralized chokepoints with opaque enforcement. Frontend access, oracle data, cross-chain bridges, fiat on-ramps, all of these represent points where centralized control can effectively override protocol-level decentralization for most users.

Solving this requires thinking about access control and compliance as architectural questions rather than operational questions. If compliance requirements can be encoded as validity predicates that execute programmatically with transparent logic, you get both compliance and fairness. If compliance happens through opaque third-party tools that flag wallets with no explanation, you get neither compliance nor fairness, just frustration.

For Hyperliquid specifically, this is damaging to their positioning as a decentralized alternative to centralized perps platforms. The value proposition was supposed to be that you do not face arbitrary restrictions or opaque enforcement. But arbitrary bans with no explanation or appeals process directly contradict that value proposition.

The user says they still support the product and will keep using it through other wallets. That loyalty is notable but the fact that the solution is “use different wallets to evade the ban” suggests the enforcement is not actually accomplishing whatever risk management goal it was intended to serve. It just creates friction for legitimate users while doing little to actually prevent determined bad actors.

Curious whether others have experienced similar issues with platforms that market themselves as decentralized but maintain centralized control over access through frontend restrictions. Also interested in whether there are examples of platforms implementing compliance and risk management in ways that maintain transparency and fairness rather than relying on opaque third-party tools with no appeals process.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Stablecoins earning yield makes the market park their money in stables, diverting it from BTC and alts.

Right now, there is hundreds of billions of stables sitting, waiting for a year or 2 for the perfect opportunity to buy. There is nothing else to do with that money, except buy some internet products or services.

Way back in 2016, I bought $200 dollars worth of Apollo Cryptocurrency. I just kinda got busy with other things, and never even checked to see if it went up in price, or died out.

Anyway, the original Apollo website had it all, and I had a wallet directly tied to their website. Anyway, so I was cleaning out some folders, and I found my login info, with the wallet address and pass code, but the original features are gone. I'm sure they updated everything.

So I'm here to ask anyone who knows, how can I find my original wallet, or is my crypto still even there?

Every time I read something about digital identity and proof of humanhood, someone points out how we hand over our data or biometrics to some company and something evil will happen.

I’ve been digging into this and found an article about Proof of Human that actually walks through how it’s possible to verify uniqueness without creating a honeypot of sensitive data. They use something called SMPC (secure multi-party computation) where your data gets split into encrypted fragments and distributed across multiple independent nodes. No single party ever sees the full picture.

They also talk about why government IDs won’t work for this (scalability issues, plus you can just report yours lost and get a new credential to sell) and why face recognition isn’t accurate enough for billions of people. I’m not technical enough to fully validate it, but it’s the first time I’ve read an explanation that didn’t immediately set off privacy alarm bells.

Anyone here work in cryptography want to weigh in? Curious if people here think this is inevitable or if there’s another path I’m not seeing.

Follow up to my earlier post questioning the CertiK TPS verification. I've spent the past week actually reading the architecture documentation, the CertiK report, and the consensus mechanism papers. Here is my assessment of what checks out and what remains uncertain.

What I think holds up:

• The bare metal, no VM architecture explanation for the TPS figure is technically coherent. EVM overhead is real and eliminating it does allow substantially higher execution throughput. The number is still extraordinary, but the mechanism is sound.
• The 451/676 quorum is formally Byzantine fault tolerant at the minimum threshold. The math is correct: 676 >= 3(225)+1 = 676. Whether minimum viable BFT is the right security model is a different question, but the formal claim is accurate.
• tick-based consensus (replacing block propagation delays) also checks out as a legitimate architectural decision that removes a meaningful throughput bottleneck.

What remains uncertain:

• The useful PoW claim that mining compute contributes to AI training while maintaining security properties has not been independently verified in the same way the TPS figure has.
• The 676 node validator set is small. BFT at this scale has different attack surface characteristics than e.g. Ethereum's validator set.
• The DOGE mining integration they're teasing hasn't launched yet, so any claims about its scale are forward-looking.

My overall read after a week of digging the architecture is more technically interesting than I expected going in. I remain skeptical of the promotional framing around some of the numbers, but skeptical doesn't mean to say wrong.

The onchain hashrate data for DOGE mining will be interesting to see!

Sold all my crypto a few years ago and basically ignored the space since then, but it feels like a good time to get back in.

If people missed, there is an extraordinary claim that subverts the official story of how the DOJ was able to "seize" $225M from pig butchering scams back in 2023, which is now being litigated in the US federal court in DC.

I.e.: The DOJ just stole someone's investigation and foreign court indictments.

Context: The DOJ has been rejecting scam victim claims left and right to forfeit the money for itself. This claim would be hard to dismiss, and came right as the DOJ was already settling with an overseas syndicate (its forfeiture justification was quite weak).

This keeps coming up when we discuss how to enable 24/7 remittance for our product and I can never get a clean answer. On the surface "24/7 transfers" sounds like a simple marketing promise but the mechanics are genuinely complicated when your on-ramp depends on ach or fednow and your banking partner has weekend cut-off windows

I had an interesting discussion recently with one member of the "btc" sub, because they were basically declaring Bitcoin as dead due to the recent price drop.

There was one point mentioned in that discussion, which I wanted to elaborate:

In 2017, as far as I know, there had been a "block size war".

One party wanted to increase the block size to improve transaction speed and use Bitcoin's L1 as a P2P currency in everydays life without reliance on a L2 as third party like the Lightning Network.

The other party rejected this proposal, won "the war" and kept the block size as it is.

Therefore, Bitcoin's identity shifted more towards the aspect of being a **store of value** and drifted away from being a **P2P cash system**.

As someone who wants to participate in the Bitcoin community to gain more independence from the current FIAT system, I found the argument of the discussion partner interesting. My goal is not to become a millionaire over night but to support a movement which can fight back against a financial system I have been opposed to for decades.

I’m so sickened by the amount of scammed people. Majority are elderly and they just wanna invest so they don’t have to work.

If you really want to know you need to trade on US based exchanges. That way you can run after your money if sometbing goes wrong.

How do you know it’s a legitimate US based exchange? You can use chat gpt but make sure to ask it to fully verify it. If it gives you an unsure answer, don’t proceed.

That’s it folks. Not a single legitimate professional will ever use the words “WhatsApp” or “telegram” to communicate with you.

I get also we get lonely and vulnerable to predators (fake personas). But you will end up getting very hurt if you allow it to happen.

If you’ve already sent money and wanna recoup- understand that this is not probably possible if the exchange is not on the US. If the crime happened here, there is the extraterritorial reach (or long arm of the law) and they’ll locate that person somewhere in the vast earth. But if you randomly trusted a person over WhatsApp or telegram, accept this as a “charge to experience”.

Never attempt to recoup losses by paying those “bounty hunters” who promise you to get your funds back. You’ll lose more money. Likely they work with the person who scammed you.

I worked in this industry for the past 10 years, but I was scammed back when I was a teenager. Never again.

Everyone focuses on the Bitcoin price, but nobody is talking about what is happening underneath it.

In March 2026, Bitcoin ETFs pulled in $2.5 billion while gold ETFs saw outflows over the same period. That is not retail money, but rather portfolio managers actively swapping one store of value for another at scale, and it has never happened at this magnitude before.

If Bitcoin is increasingly treated as a treasury asset by institutions and sovereign states, its price behavior will start to decouple from crypto market cycles and correlate with macro flows instead. That changes everything about how you think about BTC volatility and holding strategy.

The retail crowd is still trading Bitcoin like it is 2021. Institutions appear to be positioning it like gold in 2005, early in a multi decade reallocation.

Are we watching that transition happen in real time, or is this just another cycle that mean reverts like all the others?

Cardano ↔ Bitcoin atomic swap just happened on mainnet, no bridge, no wrapping

FluidTokens a Cardano DEX, just pulled off something pretty interesting, an atomic swap between Cardano and Bitcoin on mainnet.

They swapped 50 ADA for 0.0001 btc:

• No bridge • No custodian • No wrapped assets • Native ADA ↔ native BTC 

What makes this different?

Most “cross-chain” activity today relies on bridges or wrapped tokens, which introduce trust assumptions, custody risk, and attack surfaces.

This didn’t use any of that.

Instead, it was a peer-to-peer atomic swap, meaning:

• Both parties either get their assets, or nothing happens • No one can cheat the other • No third party is involved 

They used a script-to-script swap powered by hashed timelock contracts (HTLCs), the same primitive used in the Lightning Network. So either both sides complete the swap, or both safely get refunded.

Should note that atomic swaps themselves aren’t new, Bitcoin ↔ Litecoin did this back in 2017.

Cardano and Bitcoin are fundamentally different systems, so pulling this off without a bridge is a big deal from a design perspective.

Qubic uses a quorum-based consensus where 451 of 676 Computors must agree for a transaction to finalize. They describe this as Byzantine Fault Tolerant. I want to understand whether that description is technically accurate.

Classical BFT requires that the number of faulty nodes f satisfies n >= 3f+1, where n is total nodes. With 676 total and a 451 threshold, that means 225 nodes could theoretically fail or act maliciously and the network still reaches consensus. 676 >= 3(225)+1 = 676. That is exactly the BFT threshold - the minimum viable configuration.

The question I have is whether this is meaningfully different from PBFT or other BFT implementations at this scale, and what the practical attack surface looks like at 676 nodes versus something like Ethereum's validator set.

I am asking because "BFT" gets used loosely in crypto and I want to understand whether Qubic's specific implementation is formally correct or just approximately true.

I thought i'd share some really interesting findings i made. Many crypto traders really love pnl leaderboards with succesful traders and also many exchanges offer copy trading. The sad thing is that most copy traders actually lose money for three reasons.

The first reason and that is the most important one. Most, if not all, top traders on leaders have excellent risk management. However, you will be entering and exiting after that trader. The same as all the other traders. If he has an average of 2% profit every trade and you enter at +1% of the price and exit -1% after him that means on average you would be at 0%.

The second point is that high PNL and Winrate has no indication that the traders are good at determining the direction the market will take. Funny enough while backtesting different traders there are actually some traders that are really good at determining the direction but really bad at risk managment. These traders won't appear in leaderboards.

I actually did a lot of backtesting on wallets and it is interesting. If you want to create a good group of wallets to copy focus more on those that get direction correct and don't focus on winrate and pnl.

Last but not least this is also interesting the winrate is also very strongly dependent on which coins they trade on. Some coins are really hard to predict very volatile.

Feel free to discuss below. Simple questions but also questions around backtesting oos testing and so on.

For the first time ever, i was actually able to use my crypto to buy something i wanted. And it was significantly cheaper too as the merchant incurs much lower fees accepting payment in crypto, then traditional credit cards. Even better, they do not run the risk of chargeback fraud.

I hope more companies start accepting crypto for payment. Right now the largest barrier is that adoption is so low, merchants don't want to spend money develop a system that so few customers will use. But we'll get there one day.

I'd love to be wrong. It would be great to have an easy AI crypto play. I think NEAR is a more serious contender, but I haven't researched either of them properly. I tried to look into the tokenomics but not sure how much team is holding. It's about 60% circulating afaik. 40% not yet unlocked.

The last time I saw something like this was with OM/Mantra. when I watched interviews of him I was super underwhelmed. Same BS smoke show. However the claim was they were the tokenization play so I held. Back in April it was one of the only coin doing well, that hadn't lost 30% or more, like everything else and I thought better to sell it to rebalance for the losses on other alts. Ten days later it lost 90% and I was so grateful I sold. That cemented my belief to trust my gut instinct on these founder interviews. Don't make the same mistake here.

Will I put it on the line and short it? I don't know enough about it, maybe I didn't understand it's potential. But so far I see nothing but red flags, and plenty of them.

As most of you know by now, MiCA has completely reshaped the offramp landscape in Europe. USDT delisted across the board, on and offramping both more expensive by the day and harder to get by..

What it actually costs now:

The fees are bad — 0.5-1.5%+ effectively once you factor in the spread they don't tell you about, forced stablecoin swaps, and withdrawal charges. Card cashouts are even worse at 3-5%. On $10K that's $300-$500 minimum per transaction, arbitrary options (like sometimes I can only withdraw to card wtf?)

But the fees aren't even the worst part. The real cost is what you're giving up in data. Think of it as your exchange handing your complete financial diary to the tax office, without you being asked.

And here's what nobody is talking about: they're basically building the infrastructure for whatever comes next. A crypto-specific capital gains tax? A net worth mapping system? They now have everything they need to flip that switch whenever they want, and every EU-licensed exchange will have to comply overnight. Regulations have been changing so fast that what's legal today might cost you money tomorrow.

Oh, and let's not forget the security angle. We all saw what happened with the data leaks in France — physical home invasions targeting crypto holders based on leaked exchange data. The more personal data these platforms are forced to collect and share, the bigger the target on your back. More data in more databases \= more attack surface. That's not paranoia, that's just math.

What I'm looking for:

A reliable offshore exchange where I can offramp to a bank account outside of this mess. To be clear — I report my taxes myself, this isn't about evasion. It's about not wanting to hand over my entire financial profile to a system that changes its rules every quarter and can't even keep the data safe.

Specifically:

• Still supports USDT directly, no forced swaps
• Bank transfer offramp under 1%
• Stable regulatory environment that isn't going to copy-paste MiCA next year
• Not collecting my life story just to sell $5K worth of USDT

Feels like every time the market chops sideways for almost more than a week, my every social feed fills up with people claiming trading bots are some magical 'passive income' glitch. Lets be real guts .

If you just turn on a grid bot, hit the default settings and walk away, you're definitely going to get wrecked the second the market actually picks a direction. the bot doesnt know what its doing, it just executes whatever parameters you feed it.(as they always do)

Honestly the only thing that determines if a grid actually survives is what coin you're trading and the current trend. if BTC or ETH is stuck in a boring tight range for weeks, a basic spot grid eats up that volatility perfectly. it just mechanically buys the dips and sells the rips. but if you try to run it on a high momentum altcoin or some random meme thats either going parabolic or dumping 40% a day? you're just gonna end up holding a massive bag of depreciating assets or selling your winners way too early.Then there is the spot vs futures debate.

If you have a clearly defined range but want more capital efficiency, futures grids make sense but obviously the liquidation risk jumps. i actually got sick of dealing with API keys randomly disconnecting on 3rd party bot sites.

I even tried many times dedicated bot platforms like pionex for a while. pionex is decent at what it does, but honestly keeping funds there just feels like a passive parking lot, you kinda lose that actual 'trading' vibe. binance obviously has their own built in bots too, which are fine, but i ended up moving my setups over to a cex that lets me easily flip between spot grids for the boring days and isolated futures when i want to actively scalp (using bydfi rn). makes it way smoother to manage risk all in one app. beats paying monthly subscriptions for external platforms that just try to sell you '16 guaranteed profit bots' imo.

tldr: dont blind fire automation. look at the chart first. is it ranging or trending? if its trending, just hold or DCA. if its ranging, THEN use the grid. kinda curious how many people here are actually adjusting their parameters manually based on market structure vs just hitting 'AI recommend' and basically donating their liquidity to the rest of us.

A UK man named Ping Fai Yuen is in the High Court right now accusing his estranged wife and her sister of stealing his life savings in Bitcoin. According to the claim, they installed a hidden CCTV camera in the house during divorce talks back in 2023 and captured him entering or reviewing his 24-word seed phrase.

No malware, no phishing, just a regular camera watching while he handled his Trezor hardware wallet recovery info. The funds were later moved to 71 different addresses.

The court has allowed the case to move forward, noting the evidence looks strong enough to proceed to trial. Bitcoin’s price volatility is actually working in the claimant’s favor here because the judge wants the assets frozen quickly.

This is a straight reminder that self-custody isn’t only about picking the right wallet or avoiding shady links. It’s also about making sure nobody in your physical space can quietly watch you set up or back up that seed phrase. A lot of people already use a 25th-word passphrase or keep a decoy set of words for exactly this kind of risk.

Let's talk about what's actually going on because this market has been exhausting and I think a lot of people are either panic selling or completely checked out. Neither is the right move imo.

Total market cap is sitting around $2.36 trillion, BTC is consolidating in the $68k-$70k range, and the Fear & Greed Index has been hovering around 27, deep in "extreme fear" territory. If you've been in crypto for more than one cycle, you know what that usually means. It's not a guarantee of a reversal, but historically this zone is where the real accumulation happens quietly while everyone else is catastrophizing on Twitter. A few things hit at once to get us here. The weekend selloff was partly triggered by Trump threatening to "obliterate" Iran's power plants over the Strait of Hormuz situation, which sent BTC down to $68,200 and caused over $400 million in futures liquidations, mostly longs. The geopolitical overhang is real and it's not going away overnight. On top of that, AI fears have been weighing on BTC, with nothing to do with crypto fundamentals. Institutions that loaded up post-ETF approval are treating BTC and tech equities as the same risk bucket, so when software stocks sneeze, crypto catches a cold. Annoying, but that's the reality of the market we're in now.

But here's the stuff nobody's actually talking about: on March 6th, the SEC and CFTC announced a joint oversight collaboration, a move toward a unified regulatory front that the industry has been waiting years for. And quietly, the 20 millionth Bitcoin was mined on March 10th, with only 1 million BTC left to ever exist over the next 114 years. The scarcity narrative is not a meme; it's literally in the code.

On-chain data backs the patience play too. Exchange reserves are at 7-year lows, whale wallets have been visibly buying the post-FOMC dip, and spot BTC ETFs recorded $201M in net inflows on March 16th, the sixth consecutive day of positive flows. Institutions are not running for the exits. $71,400 is the line in the sand. A confident move above that flips the short-term narrative back bullish, while a breakdown below $68,000 could accelerate toward the mid-$60ks. Watching that level closely this week.

Personally, I'm not selling or adding leverage. For liquidity, I've just been borrowing against my BTC and ETH on nехо rather than touching my bags, no forced selling, no taxable event, still fully exposed to the upside. The thesis hasn't changed. Regulatory clarity has just meaningfully improved, supply is contracting, and institutions are still accumulating.

Gold's spot market shuts down every Friday afternoon and doesn't reopen until Monday morning. But tokenized gold ($PAXG and $XAUT) trades 24/7 on crypto exchanges.

CoinGecko looked at 14 months of data (Jan 2025 – Mar 2026). Basically every time big news dropped on a weekend, tokenized gold moved immediately while spot gold was frozen. When Commodity Exchange Inc. (COMEX) finally reopened Monday morning, it usually gapped in the same direction the tokens had already gone. That held up about two-thirds of the time.

During this period, gold went from $2,600 to over $5,300, and the on-chain market kept front-running the Monday open. It doesn't work every time, especially during low-volume holidays or when crypto itself is getting liquidated, but it's been surprisingly consistent.

I think it's worth adding a Sunday night PAXG check to your routine if you trade gold.

I've been holding LTC for over two years now. I still believe in it, but the continuous downtrend over the last few months is testing my patience. Watching my other bags bleed along with it was even worse, so I just reconsidered the pure HODL strategy. Recently, I decided to take a small portion to run a futures grid bot on BYDFi. Something I’ve noticed is that a lot of people enter crypto through price.

Charts, gains, cycles, “what coin should I buy.”

But they skip understanding what’s actually happening underneath.

What a wallet really is.

What a private key actually represents.

What it means to truly own your assets.

What’s happening when you send or receive a transaction.

Without that foundation, crypto ends up feeling like speculation instead of a system.

Once you understand the basics, things start to click. Not just price, but why the space works the way it does.

I recently read Crypto for Dummies: A Beginner’s Guide to Bitcoin, Blockchain, and Not Losing Your Mind (or Your Money) and what I liked is that it focuses on those fundamentals first.

It explains Bitcoin, blockchain mechanics, wallets, and security in a way that’s simple but still meaningful.

Circle and other stablecoin issuers will now put a lot of effort in tokenizing real world assets and their trading. That is the only way in which their market cap will grow.

People will have more incentive to bring their tokens to self custody wallets and participate in the ecosystem rather than just using centralized exchanges.

Clarity Act will provide guidelines on how security can be traded on DEXs.

Institutions will embrace stable coins and Blockchain based payment which will lead to mass adoption.

Most AI research assumes the path to AGI runs through increasingly large LLMs. It's the dominant paradigm for obvious reasons, as it has produced the most visible results.
A developer presentation I came across proposed a different direction. Rather than training a static model, the proposal is a system that runs continuously and evolves. The architectural distinction is the use of ternary logic (+1, 0, -1) rather than binary, allowing the system to represent uncertainty natively rather than approximating it. It improves through evolutionary selection rather than gradient descent.

What caught my attention: this is not just theoretical. There is open-source code, a training dataset exceeding a terabyte, a live demo, and a research paper accepted for presentation at IEEE this year.

While investigating this space, I noticed Qubic seems to be building toward this kind of distributed continuous AI processing using their mining network as the compute layer.

I'm not an AI researcher. However, I am curious whether people closer to this field think continuous evolutionary architectures are a serious research direction or a dead end compared to scaled transformer models.

I see a bunch of people working for foreign companies, receiving a boatload of USDT, and just letting it sit there rotting on the exchange until it's time to convert and pay the bills. Seriously? This is the equivalent of handing over the keys to your production server to a third party and hoping they don’t run a rm -rf / on your life.

"Not your keys, not your crypto" isn't a meme. If the CEX freezes withdrawals or enters "infinite maintenance," your salary turns into smoke. The move is to push it to your own wallet (Phantom, MetaMask, whatever) and have total control.

Back in the day, it was a pain because to actually use the money, you had to send it back to the broker, but nowadays you can live on-chain and spend directly from self-custody. Anyone still trusting an exchange to store their wealth in 2026 is just asking for trouble.

I have tried to summarize the important points of the video, but it’s probably better if you watch it yourself (personally I preferred to read the transcript)

• Bitcoin is not unique versus any other crypto currency, except that it’s the first one.

• Bitcoin should be doing well right now, because 1)lots of factors should theoretically favor bitcoin (inflation, global instability, US president favorable to Bitcoin 2)Bitcoin has achieved everything it wanted in terms of recognition by the establishment

• Bitcoin has been rallying in recent years because it was anticipating milestones, now all of these things have been achieved, there’s nothing more to aspire too.

• After 17 years, BTC still has no real world use.

• The fact that Bitcoin is being democratized is a sign that they are looking for people to “hold the bag”

• Gemini Space Station (Winklevoss twins) evaluation has tanked, they have laid off staff and leaving staff hasn’t been replaced (no COO for the time being (end of February 2026)). Apparently they’re pivoting into other things like prediction markets.

• BlockFills has suspended all deposits and withdrawals (apparently they act as a liquidity provider and lender for over 2000 institutional clients)

• Mining has become unprofitable (hash price too low). Apparently some miners have pivoted to operating AI data centers instead of mining.

• Bitcoin is no longer decoupled from the financial market. It will lose its value by no longer being independent from the financial markets.

• Bitcoin needs to constantly “recruit” new believers in order to get more valuable. This is becoming increasingly difficult.

Summary: Bitcoin is nothing more than a collectible. As such, its value depends entirely on the mood of potential buyers. Right now, these potential buyers are already wondering if Bitcoin is overpriced, and the outlook isn’t too good.

I'm so done with VC coins. Been looking for genuinely fair opportunities like BTC and ORDI.

Recently came across a pretty interesting project where all token emissions come from AI agent work output (useful work that people want done). No premine and no VC or Team allocation.

Agents do defined tasks, and then multiple agents cross-verify the results. Tokens are only released after verification.

Structurally it's like PoW, except the output is useful data instead of hashes. 100% fair launch.

Code is open source, search awp-core on Github.

Executives at Balancer Labs are now pushing for the protocol to be managed by the Balancer Foundation and Balancer’s DAO.

Balancer Labs, the team behind the DeFi protocol Balancer, is shutting down after mounting financial pressure following a $116 million hack in November, with executives proposing to continue the protocol under a leaner structure.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to wind down Balancer Labs. This is not a decision I take lightly,” one of Balancer Protocol’s founders, Fernando Martinelli, said on Monday, adding that Balancer Labs has become a “liability rather than an asset to the protocol,” as it has been operating without revenue.

Balancer Labs CEO Marcus Hardt added that it was spending too much to attract liquidity relative to the revenue the protocol is making, a strategy that came at the cost of diluting Balancer (BAL) token holders.

I’m basically never using CEX usually, I’m mostly p2p since years. But i’ve had quite a nice real estate deal and i needed to sell some BTC for USDT fast so I decided to use Coinbase, full KYC done, everything clean. The moment I deposited, funds got locked instantly, can’t trade, can’t withdraw, nothing.

It’s been 3 weeks now, support going in circles asking for proof of funds I just don’t have (old p2p coins from 2015/etc, while i provided as much documents as i have). Deadline is coming and I might lose the deal over this. Been reading over reddit and seems it happens a lot. Anyone managed to unlock in a similar situation? Should I que then? advices appreciated

Someone just walked away with $25 million in ETH after exploiting Resolv’s USR stablecoin by minting 80 million tokens from a $200,000 USDC deposit. Single wallet controlled minting permissions, no multisig, insufficient auditing. The attacker dumped everything across Curve in 17 minutes, crashing USR from $1 to $0.025.

The standard response focuses on operational security failures. Single key instead of multisig, inadequate auditing, poor access controls. All true. But there’s a deeper architectural point about how intent-based systems prevent this class of exploit.

The exploit worked because the minting contract allowed direct execution of privileged functions through normal transaction calls. Wallet had the key, submitted transactions to mint unlimited tokens, transactions executed. Security relied entirely on that key staying secure and access control logic being correct. When either assumption broke, system failed catastrophically.

Intent-based protocols like Anoma handle privileged operations differently through validity predicates that encode constraints as verifiable logic. When you want to execute a privileged operation, you express the desired outcome as an intent. Validity predicates verify that intent satisfies all constraints before execution proceeds.

For stablecoin minting, validity predicates could enforce that minting requires corresponding collateral deposit, that minting ratio cannot exceed defined parameters, that large mints require multiple authorizations. These constraints get verified cryptographically as part of intent settlement rather than being checked through access control that can be bypassed if keys are compromised.

The architectural difference: transaction-based systems rely on access control to prevent unauthorized actions. If you have the right key you can execute any function, regardless of whether execution makes sense given system state. Intent-based systems rely on validity predicates that must be satisfied regardless of who submits the intent.

Imagine Resolv minting implemented with intent architecture. Attacker expresses intent to mint 50 million USR. Validity predicates check whether corresponding collateral exists to back that minting at defined ratio. Check fails because $200,000 USDC does not back 50 million tokens. Intent gets rejected before execution. Even with the authorized key, the intent cannot execute because it violates validity predicates encoding system constraints.

CowSwap is different. It uses intent architecture for order settlement and MEV protection through solver competition and batch auctions, not for access control on privileged functions. CowSwap prevents MEV extraction but is not designed to prevent exploits where privileged functions execute in ways that violate system constraints.

The Resolv case specifically would have benefited from validity predicates enforcing collateralization ratios, minting limits, and constraints that should hold regardless of who executes the function. Even with compromised keys, intents to mint unbacked tokens would get rejected by validity predicates before execution.

This is not claiming intent architecture prevents all exploits. Validity predicates can be implemented incorrectly just like access control. But encoding constraints as validity predicates that must be satisfied provides meaningful additional security for privileged operations beyond just checking whether the caller is authorized.

Anoma’s architecture with validity predicates and atomic intent settlement is designed specifically to address these problems. Whether it would have prevented this specific exploit depends on implementation details, but the architectural approach of encoding constraints as verifiable logic rather than relying solely on access control provides different security properties worth considering.

Curious whether others building DeFi protocols are thinking about intent architecture as security improvement or whether focus remains primarily on traditional access control and multisig approaches.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Seems to rear its head and then disappear again, but the threat of quantum computing to Bitcoin's ECDSA will become more pertinent in the next 5-10 years as logical qubits capability increases. This article breaks down the potential pathways towards quantum resistance.

At a high level, Bitcoin’s path to quantum resistance reduces to two distinct—but complementary—objectives.

First, the protocol must minimize the exposure of public keys onchain, reducing the immediate attack surface available to a quantum adversary.

Second, it must eventually replace its existing signature schemes with post-quantum alternatives, ensuring long-term security against CRQCs.

The good news is that there’s already some traction on the first front—exposure minimization. One of the most prominent proposals in this direction is BIP-360.

As currently formulated, BIP-360 introduces a new output type called Pay-to-Merkle-Root (P2MR). Conceptually similar to Taproot, P2MR removes the key-path component present in P2TR outputs—a mechanism that commits a tweaked public key onchain, leaving it indefinitely exposed to quantum attacks. Instead, P2MR commits only to a Merkle root of spending conditions, ensuring that no public key is revealed onchain until the moment of spending.

In practical terms, BIP-360 is a deliberately conservative upgrade. It addresses Taproot’s exposure to long-range quantum attacks, and little else. It meaningfully reduces the long-range attack surface and buys time—but it does not, on its own, make Bitcoin quantum-resistant. As the proposer puts it:

“BIP 360 is step one. It proposes a quantum-resistant output type that has the upgradability and features of P2TR without the quantum vulnerability. If we want full quantum safety, we also need step two: adopting a post-quantum signature algorithm."

A hacker has exploited Resolv Labs’ smart contract, where it was able to mint at least $80 million worth of USR stablecoins.

As a result of the hack, USR crashed to $0.025, i.e., 2.5 cents, within hours. The stablecoin is unlikely to emerge after an 80% de-peg similar to Terra Luna’s UST.

However, the hacker was only able to siphon off $25 million; the rest was locked into the protocol after system admins got alerted.

The $25 million funds were quickly converted into Ethereum (ETH) by simply swapping USR.

TL;DR: Most DeFi vault APYs combine three separate yield layers: base lending, protocol token emissions, and time-limited campaign rewards. Each layer has a different duration, risk profile, and compounding behavior. If you don’t break them apart before depositing, you’ll likely earn less than the headline number suggests.

What Is the Difference Between APR and APY in DeFi?

APR is the simple annual rate. APY includes the effect of compounding. A 12% APR compounded daily comes out to roughly 12.75% APY. Most dashboards display APY because it’s the higher number. But many bonus rewards don’t auto-compound. They sit unclaimed until you manually harvest and redeploy them. If the dashboard shows APY but the rewards require manual action, the rate you actually earn is closer to the APR figure.

When comparing stablecoin yields or DeFi yield farming rates across platforms, convert everything to the same unit first. Otherwise you’re comparing numbers that represent different things.

How Does Yield Stacking Actually Work in DeFi?

Take a stablecoin position like exUSD (not a real stablecoin, using as an example). The return comes from three separate layers, each with different mechanics and duration.

Layer 1: Base Lending Yield

Your capital gets deployed into lending protocols like Morpho, Aave, or Euler. Borrowers pay interest on it. This is the base return, and it exists whether or not any bonus program is running. It fluctuates with borrowing demand. Currently stablecoins earn roughly 2–4% APR in lending protocols.

Layer 2: Protocol Token Emissions

The protocol behind exUSD distributes $EX tokens to depositors through a rewards distribution platform like Merkl. This is an additional return funded by the protocol’s token budget. It has a set duration and it dilutes as more people deposit into the vault. These rates vary and are typically provided through protocol emissions, though not always. Additionally, if the token hasn't TGE'd, the protocol may show an estimated yield based on what they think the token price will be at launch. This may or may not actually be the case, in which case the yield will change dramatically.

Layer 3: Campaign Rewards (Liquidity Mining)

On top of the first two layers, some platforms run targeted liquidity mining campaigns. These are time-bound, often lasting 2 to 12 weeks, and distribute additional tokens to depositors who meet certain criteria. This layer is the most variable and the first one to disappear. There can be other conditions like vesting, hold periods, etc.

Why Does the Blended APY Number Mislead DeFi Depositors?

A dashboard might combine all three layers into a single “22% APY” figure. But in reality, Layer 1 continues as long as borrowing demand exists. Layer 2 runs until the protocol’s bonus budget is spent. Layer 3 ends when the campaign closes. If you deposit expecting 22% and the campaign ends next week, your actual yield drops to whatever Layer 1 and Layer 2 provide on their own.

What Are Liquidity Coordination Platforms in DeFi?

Layer 2 and Layer 3 exist because of a category of platforms called liquidity coordination platforms. Merkl, Turtle, and others in this space let protocols run incentive campaigns that target specific vaults, chains, or LP positions. They handle the distribution so that each depositor receives rewards proportional to their contribution.

This is different from yield aggregators like Yearn or Beefy, which optimize existing yield. Coordination platforms add new yield layers that wouldn’t exist without the campaign. How Do You Check DeFi Yield Sources Before Depositing?

Most lending protocols show the base rate directly. On Aave or Morpho, the supply rate listed for a given asset is your Layer 1 base yield.

For campaign durations, check the platform running the incentive program. On Merkl, you can see active campaigns with their remaining time and budget. Turtle’s Earn tab shows which vaults have active campaigns and lets you sort by yield source, so you can see exactly how much of the rate comes from the base and how much comes from the bonus. DefiLlama also tracks base yields across protocols, which makes comparison straightforward.

If you can’t find the end date of a campaign on any dashboard, that’s worth investigating before you deposit.

It’s been real and with my dca at about as high on all cryptos as I could possibly get. I didn’t leave any out. I got all the big ones, etherium sol, couldn’t leave out buying xrp at above $3.00. I wanted to make sure I got on bitcoin north of 100k because heck it’s heading to $250k by end of Q1 2026. Went super hard on gold futures north of $5000 because you know the world is getting away from the dollar and we have less inflation and more job loss meaning we will see 2 interest rates drop minimum in 2026. I just now saw that Coinbase Commerce was going to change to Coinbase Business on March 31 while updating some of my payment options on my e-commerce site. (Long story short, Stripe sucks, I want more crypto.) Am I going to have to update, or will the Coinbase Commerce Wordpress plugin still work?

(It's cool if you want to suggest an alternative Wordpress plugin for accepting cryptocurrency payments that's pretty easy to configure. I know Coinbase isn't always the greatest. I'm just asking to be sure.)

I am looking to move some of my savings into gold, but I am worried about how hard it is to sell physical bars quickly without losing money on dealer spreads. Has anyone here actually tried using digital tokens instead of the physical stuff?

I was looking at streamex and their GLDY token, which is supposed to be backed by physical gold but also pays out a yield. • FEAR is at it's core an aversion to danger and risk. It is a pro-survival trait as those creatures which lacked it would be far less likely to last long enough to reproduce.

Most of the posts are just links and empty hype. Then there are communities where people are actually talking, sharing ideas, showing up even when nothing is happening, and welcoming new people without expecting anything in return. That kind of energy is hard to fake, and people notice.

When someone new enters the space, they are not just looking at charts. They are scrolling, reading, and listening. They are asking themselves whether people are actually active, whether they truly believe in what they are part of, or if it is just another quick flip. You do not need to tell them the answer because they will figure it out by observing behaviour.

People do not just ape into numbers. They ape into a feeling. That feeling comes from seeing the same names show up every day, from watching conversations grow, and from realising there is something real being built. If it feels genuine, people want to be part of it. If it feels forced, they move on.

Consistency plays a huge role in all of this. Anyone can be loud for a day, especially when things are going up, but the real ones show up when it is quiet. They keep posting, keep talking, and keep building. Over time, that consistency builds trust, and that trust turns into momentum.

All Will Retire is not just about a goal. It is about the people who show up and contribute. It is about those who keep conversations alive, help others, and genuinely care about what is being built. That is what makes it different, and that is what people feel when they come across it.

The SEC's digital asset market taxonomy, which classifies most cryptocurrencies and tokens as non-securities, is a major step for US regulators.

The recent guidance from the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission establishing a taxonomy for digital assets put a “final nail” in the coffin of SEC policy under former Chairman Gary Gensler, according to Alex Thorn, the head of firmwide research at investment firm Galaxy.

The SEC guidance, published on Tuesday, established a taxonomy for digital assets, dividing them into five categories, including digital commodities, digital collectibles like non-fungible tokens (NFTs), digital tools, stablecoins, and tokenized securities.

North Carolina Lawmakers Propose State Bitcoin Reserve

I've been posting across various platforms online about how nation states and governments are starting to get in on the BTC train. Tail end of last year the state of Texas started a fund with 5 million $, however this was in IBIT/ETFs and not actual BTC yet.

This came out the other day, and if you read it on there it specifically mentions the state of North Carolina holding actual BTC in cold storage using multi signature wallets. It also states that it intends on holding for the long term and only can be spent/sold with a 2/3 vote with their general assembly and ONLY for financial crises, critical infrastructure or economic projects, etc. In addition to this, it mentions up to 10% of public funds, so potentially hundreds of millions or even billions. I won't get into every single detail, as you can read this yourself with that link.

More U.S states are starting to get in on this, and it will only continue to grow from there. I wouldn't be too surprised to even see major cities starting to do this as well. This isn't even factoring in the U.S government's desire for a strategic reserve or even other nation states currently working on this or will in the future.

With less than one million coins remaining and the sheer wall of demand about to hit over the next few years, this asset is going to become incredibly scarce.

Been around here long enough to think I’ve seen most scam variants… but this one’s interesting(though nothing new)

Apparently scammers are now creating a fake “FBI token” on Tron and using it to trick users into thinking it’s some kind of official or government linked asset.

What’s wild is people are still falling for this kind of branding play. Slap a logo, throw in “FBI”, and suddenly it feels legit to some users. Same old psychology, just repackaged.

The FBI actually had to step in and clarify this isn’t real (which says a lot by itself).

Big takeaway (again):

If a token is using authority names (FBI, UN, govt, etc.), it’s almost always a scam. No legit agency is launching random tokens on Tron or anywhere else.

This analysis is based on an article by a16z crypto.

Couple of days back, i stumbled upon a NEWS that Algorand Foundation is no longer non-profit. They have merged with Algorand Technologies, the software development firm that heads protocol development. With this context in mind let us see what this article says.

Here a16z argues that the foundation era where a centralized, non-profit entity indefinitely manages a protocol is officially over. They argue that for true decentralization and regulatory safety, protocols must transition to a unincorporated association or a decentralized statutory association.

Reasons:

1) Without clear feedback loops or direct accountability foundations or its employees don't have the incentive to drive blockchain growth

2) Foundations are not legally able to build adjacent products or engage in types of commercial activity, even where it would substantially benefit the network.

3) Artificial barriers between interdependent functions (Example: Protocol development and Business Development) slow development, inhibit coordination, and ultimately degrade product quality for everyone.

4) Foundations slowly transform themselves into centralizing actors that control treasury keys, critical operational functions, and network-upgrade rights.

I’m curious to see the stock market be a bit more volatile than crypto this week (at least in my portfolio). With escalating global conflict I wonder if we will start to see a disconnecting correlation in the near future. I’m curious to see what other people think and if the whole limited supply versus infinite paper printer conversation starts back up again. Open to a healthy debate, let’s see which ai Chatbot wins. Pretty interesting interview although one might disagree with some takes. Animoca Brands is a Hong Kong company that has invested in Kraken, OpenSea, Solana, Ledger and over 600 businesses in crypto and will likely IPO in 2026.

They have a lot of cash and tokens on their balance sheet.

The founder Yat Siu is making it an "index" to bet on diversification in crypto, bringing optionality like in the 2000s when a portfolio with Amazon and a lot of trash would still be very succesful. Still a bold bet when altcoin season might never come again...

If someone has the list of all the companies in its portfolio, I'd gladly take it. Not sure their website has disclosed everything.

Been using MetaMask for Ethereum and Phantom for Solana, but juggling between different wallets is getting old. Every time I need to move funds between chains or check balances, it's like jumping through hoops.

I've tried a couple multi-chain wallets but either they feel sketchy or are missing basic features. Not looking for anything too fancy , just something reliable that doesn't make me feel like I'm gonna mess something up.

What's everyone using these days that actually works across chains without being a pain to set up? Would love to hear what's been working for you before I commit to another wallet. Thanks.

Vitalik Buterin criticized the user preference towards speculation in crypto markets.

He said that focusing solely on gambling and ignoring utility will bring crypto markets to an end.

Vitalik has been highly critical in the past, but this statement is his harshest yet.

Current crypto markets focus more on trading cryptocurrencies as speculative assets, and utility is far lower than that.

Besides the top few projects like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and stablecoins and few others, nearly every other coin has only a small number of users.

The consensus conversation has been dominated by proof of stake for a few years now. Most newer projects default to PoS because the infrastructure overhead is lower and the scaling story is cleaner.

That said, Bitcoin's dominance means PoW is not going anywhere, and there are still meaningful projects running PoW that aren't Bitcoin.

What I've been trying to understand is whether anyone is still experimenting with PoW at an architectural level - not just different hashing algorithms, but actual changes to what the mining infrastructure is doing. The question isn't just "PoW vs PoS" - it's whether PoW itself can evolve.

While reading into this I came across Qubic which seems to be testing approaches where mining hardware contributes to useful computation beyond hashing. Interesting to see someone actually building this rather than just theorizing.

Do you think PoW has meaningful architectural innovation left, or is the development energy essentially gone from that side of the space?

Stablecoin transaction volume hit $46 trillion annually — up 106% year over year. September 2025 alone saw $1.25 trillion processed in a single month. And those numbers could scale dramatically, given that crypto payment gateways are actively planning to integrate AI agents into their infrastructure.

The crypto market is almost uniquely suited for this kind of innovation. AI agents are software — they can't pass the identity verification that banks require. A crypto wallet only needs a private key. That means an AI agent can send and receive cryptocurrency without going through KYC every single time.

The early results of that compatibility are already showing up in the data. The share of stablecoin settlements has climbed to 36% of all transactions, up from just 5% at the end of 2023. Gartner projects that by 2030, AI "machine clients" could control or influence up to $30 trillion in annual purchases. MarketsandMarkets forecasts the AI agent market growing from $7.84 billion in 2025 to $52.62 billion by 2030.

Coinbase has emerged as the informal leader in AI agent integration — the company even developed its own protocol for it, called x402. On the Ethereum side, developers introduced ERC-8004, an NFT-based digital identity standard for agents that Binance Pay has already adopted.

NOWPayments, CoinGate, and BitPay haven't made any public statements on the topic, but Cryptomus has added AI agent integration to its official roadmap. PayPal and OpenAI announced an instant checkout tool through the Agent Checkout Protocol, built directly into ChatGPT. And in January 2025, Google unveiled AP2 — Agent Payment Protocol 2.0.

That said, it's worth being clear about where things actually stand: fully operational models where the paying party is an AI agent rather than a human don't really exist yet. Trust remains the biggest barrier to making agentic payments a mainstream reality.
